03/07/2026
At the request of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Agency organised another Basic Close Protection of VIPs Training Course from 22 June to 3 July 2026. The programme was designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to implement security measures and perform close protection duties for VIPs.
The training was attended by 18 police officers from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose responsibilities include, among other duties, organising and providing physical and technical protection for protected persons and facilities of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as diplomatic and consular missions, in accordance with the law, international obligations, and regulations adopted by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The curriculum combined theoretical instruction with practical exercises covering the fundamental principles of VIP protection, security planning and organisation, risk assessment, and response procedures in situations involving heightened security threats. Particular emphasis was placed on practical training, during which participants practised operational techniques and procedures applicable in real-life security situations.
The programme concluded with a tactical demonstration exercise, during which participants showcased the operational techniques they had acquired and their readiness to respond effectively in complex situations. Certificates were presented to the successful participants by the Director of the Agency, Marko Vujević, who congratulated them on successfully completing the course and highlighted the importance of their role.
"You perform an exceptionally responsible duty. Even minor delays, mistakes, or deviations from established procedures can have serious consequences for people's lives," Director Vujević told the participants.
Commending their professionalism during the demonstration exercise, he also emphasised the importance of continuous professional development, noting that ongoing training would "enhance your effectiveness in carrying out VIP protection duties, particularly in challenging and crisis situations where you will have to assess the situation instantly and respond promptly, thereby fulfilling the responsibilities of a police officer who performs their duties honourably and responsibly."
