Second Cycle of Drone Operator Training Completed at AEPTM
20/02/2026
The second cycle of the Basic Training for Drone Operators was completed today at the Agency for Education and Professional Training. The training was organised in cooperation with the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with the expert support of CIVIPOL, within the framework of the EU4FAST Project (EU support to strengthening the fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking in the Western Balkans).
The training was delivered in accordance with a curriculum aligned by the Agency with FRONTEX methodology. During the five-day programme, 12 border police officers and one AEPTM instructor completed the practical part of the training using equipment (drones) donated by EU Member States, valued at EUR 220,000. The training was conducted by a team of instructors from France.
Prior to the award of certificates, the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, addressed the participants. “First of all, I would like to thank Frederic Beraudou and Jorom Allasia, the team of instructors from France, who spent two weeks at our Agency working with police officers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to help them master the basics of drone operation,” said Vujević. He also announced continued cooperation with CIVIPOL and the organisation of advanced training for police officers who achieved the best results during the basic course.
Congratulating the participants, Vujević emphasised their responsibility to contribute, from a technical perspective, to strengthening and improving the protection of the state border, particularly in combating human trafficking and irregular migration, which is the primary objective of the EU4FAST project.
Let us remind that under the Equipment Donation Agreement signed just over a week ago, it was specified that the drones would be used within a certified drone pilot training programme fully integrated into the Agency’s official curriculum.
