29/04/2025

The Agency for Education and Professional Training represented by Director Marko Vujević, Assistant for Training Elvir Velić, Head of the Department for Specialized Training Ivan Pinjuh, and senior advisor Neven Kajić participated in the final conference of the Erasmus+ project FIRST-TAC, held at the Police Academy "Prvi hrvatski redarstvenik " of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb.

The project was aimed at drafting a standardized training curriculum for police officers who are the first to arrive at a scene, focusing on the use of force and tactical medicine. Led by the Croatian Police Academy, the project involved partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Agency for Education and Professional Training), Poland, and Lithuania, and was funded with €250,000 through the Erasmus+ KA2 program. Key outputs included a new training curriculum, a detailed manual with teaching materials, video content, and a virtual classroom. Four pilot workshops were conducted to refine these resources. The project developed an online workshop to improve teaching skills, focusing on interactive methods like role-play, simulation, and feedback. The project’s website hosts all related materials and additional information about the project, partners, and activities.

The Zagreb conference was attended by leaders from partner institutions, Croatian emergency services, and government representatives. Speakers emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation, standardized procedures, and enhanced training for first responders.

Josip Ćelić, Head of the Police Academy "Prvi hrvatski redarstvenik", stated that police tactics related to the use of force and first aid involved extremely sensitive and complex issues. He stressed the importance of having professional literature that compiles best practices, clear procedures, and specific guidelines. The presented manual was the outcome of systematic work, shared experiences, and the alignment of various approaches from partner institutions in Croatia, Poland, Lithuania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The primary goal of the project has been the standardization of procedures and the enhancement of professional competencies for first responders.

Marko Vujević, Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training demonstrated strong interest in future collaboration, emphasizing that no country can act alone in addressing complex issues such as security. He acknowledged the leadership of the Croatian academy and thanked partners from Poland and Lithuania, noting a shared vision for enhancing operational and security systems through joint efforts.
