Poland: Third development Erasmus + Project development meeting
19/02/2024
The third development meeting of experts in tactics and techniques for the use of force and tactical medicine was held in the Police School in Slupsk (Poland) on February 12-16, 2024. The meeting is a part of the Erasmus+ project - Development of Joint Curriculum for First Responders on the Use of Force and First Aid Tactical Procedures (FIRST-TAC) that is jointly implemented by the Agency for Education and Professional Training, the Croatian Police Academy "Prvi hrvatski redarstvenik", the Lithuanian Police School and the Slupsk Police School from Poland.
The goal of the FIRST-TAC project is the exchange of experiences and good practices in the area of tactics and techniques for the use of force and tactical medicine, as well as in the approaches to the training of police officers in the aforementioned areas, which should enable the optimization and standardization of procedures in the training of police officers, and consequently their performance in everyday work. The focus of the meeting was on the creation of teaching material for the participants of the programme, and a manual for the instructors who will conduct it.
The representatives of the Agency for Education and Professional Training who participated in the meeting in Poland were Elvir Velić, assistant director for training, and Jurica Pranjić and Deni Jelovac, expert advisors.
The next meeting of the partner institutions in the FIRST-TAC project will be held in the Agency for Education and Professional Training in mid-March. This project is planned to involve four pilot training courses based on the developed program, where the instructors will be the experts who participated in the curriculum development, and the trainees will be the instructors from various police departments. This will allow them to have a valuable and unique view of the training from the perspective of participants, and enable them to actively participate in the process of improving the program itself.
