8th INTERPA CONFERENCE

The Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, India hosted the 8th annual conference of the International Associacition of Police Academies (INTERPA) on February 11-13, 2019. The
conference gathered 90 representatives from police education institutions from 38 countries. The topic of the conference was The Cyber Security and Fight against Cyber Crime. Deputy
Director Saša Govedarica represented the Agency for Education and Professional Training this year.
This conference was a platform for a number of interesting debates about the following topics: Crime scene investigations, Digital evidence collection, Modern tchniques and
methods for crime prevention, Tackling disturbing information from social networks. 20 scientific papers were presented by participants from the Czech Republic, India, Qatar,
Palestine, Sudan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. 
Two meetings of the Executive Board and General Council of INTERPA took place on this occassion, when the President of the Turkish National Academy, Prof.Yılmaz Çolak was
unanimously re-elected the President of INTERPA. The Vice-Presidents come from Belarus, Sudan an Saudi Arabia, and new Executive Board members come from India,
Kazahstan, Malesia, Qatar and Macedonia.
The membership application was approved to the Czech Technical University (CZECHIA). With this institution, INTERPA now consists of 73 institutions from 57 world countries.
