With the awarding of certificates, the specialised training titled "Security Measures for Risk Mitigation in VIP Protection" was concluded today at the Agency for Education and Professional Training. This training focuses on security measures related to the inspection of premises, individuals, objects, vehicles, and movement routes.
The training was organised and conducted by the AEPTM Specialist Training Department at the request of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, aiming to refresh, acquire, and enhance skills for implementing security measures to mitigate risks in VIP protection for 12 police officers.
Addressing the trainees, the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, reflected on the nature of their daily duties, highlighting the responsible and complex task of protecting VIPs in all aspects. "The public sees only fancy cars, well-dressed individuals, and their escorts, commenting on how pleasant the job must be. However, the reality is different. Police officers protecting VIPs are under stress and pressure, whether due to the work pace dictated by the protected individual or potential, often inadvertent, oversights in defining or changing movement routes. This job involves numerous activities that must be meticulously planned, and escorting officers are required to carry them out diligently and responsibly," said Vujević. He further noted that the Agency for Education and Professional Training maintains a partnership with the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and that their collaboration on such specialised programmes will continue into the next year.
The certified instructors appointed by the Directorate, Edin Kosovac and Vedran Budimir, participated in conducting this training.
