17/10/2024
The Deputy Commander of EUFOR, Brigadier General Lorenzo Dal Maso, and the Special Advisor for EUFOR's Police Agencies and Officer of the French Gendarmerie, Fabrice Gruter visited the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM) today.
Director Marko Vujević introduced the guests to the core competencies of AEPTM and provided updates regarding the implementation of basic police training, currently attended by 192 cadets of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies at our facility. The director briefed the EUFOR officers on the modalities of international cooperation that have been intensified over the past few years, particularly through NATO's Defence Education Enhancement Programme (NATO-DEEP) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was extended to our institution last year, as well as the Erasmus+ project, under which our agency, in collaboration with colleagues from Croatia, Lithuania, and Poland, has been working for over a year on training programmes for police officers in the fields of tactics and techniques for the use of force and tactical medicine.
The second part of the meeting focused on exchanging information and exploring possibilities for joint cooperation aimed at supporting and improving the educational processes conducted by our agency for police officers, as well as for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this regard, Del Maso and Gruter emphasized their openness to cooperation, which would involve organizing joint professional and specialist training sessions, with a commitment to providing the presence of experts and technical support.
During a tour of the facility Del Maso and Gruter confirmed that our agency, with its space and equipment, offers excellent conditions for the training and education of police officers in our country.
