Visit of the Mayor of Mostar
04/09/2024
A delegation from the City of Mostar, led by Mayor Mario Kordić, visited the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM) today. The visit was prompted by discussions on how to improve the community infrastructure that the Agency has been using for the past four years, since the new complex was put into operation. Since these issues fall under the responsibility of the city's utility companies, today’s meeting considered the possibilities of connecting the Agency to the sewage system and the use of recycling waste containers, which will soon be installed on streets throughout the city.
The Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, took advantage of this first visit by the Mayor of Mostar and city representatives to introduce the guests to the Agency’s core responsibilities and its professional cooperation with related institutions at the national and international level. The cooperation projects are planned and implemented with the aim of improving the educational programs for police officers at all levels of government in our country, which in turn helps strengthen the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The delegation from the City of Mostar also toured the Agency’s complex, where earlier this week, 145 cadets from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina began their basic police training, based on curricula aligned with FRONTEX’s Common Core Curriculum 2022 for the basic training of EU border and coast guards.
During their visit with the cadets and instructors, the Mostar City delegation witnessed firsthand the excellent working conditions at the Agency. After touring all the facilities, the city representatives announced the potential for joint projects, particularly those that address current security issues faced by local self-government units.
