28/02/2024
At the invitation of the BiH Border Police director, Mirko Kuprešaković, a delegation of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, led by director Marko Vujević, participated today in Sarajevo in a work meeting with FRONTEX representatives who are in charge of implementing the IPA III Project "EU: regional support for strengthening the capacity of border security in the Western Balkans".
FRONTEX representatives presented a project to help the Western Balkans countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia) join the European integrated border management community. The programme has three specific objectives: 1. developing integrated border management strategies that are aligned with the European Union policies, 2. comprehensive training and equipping programmes and developing partnerships with training academies in the Western Balkans to include them in the network of FRONTEX partner academies and 3. the establishment and operationalization of national coordination centers as the basis of EUROSUR (European Border Surveillance System).
