Agreement of cooperation between AEPTM and SUM
Representatives of the Agency for Education and Professional Training and University of Mostar,
Director Marko Vujević and Rector of University, prof. dr. Zoran Tomić signed an agreement of
cooperation at the Agency's premises in Mostar. Its primary goal is to estalish partnership between two
institutions in the field of science, education and research. The agreement opens up a possibility of co-
organizing scientific research activities, conferences, sympoziums, seminars, workshops and making joint
efforts to secure funds from the external funding sources.
„ Our response to the complex security situation with a burden of migration and various types of
criminal offenses has to be based on science and profession, with well trained police officers'', Vujević
stated and added that the Agency provides an ideal work environment in its new facilities „ Our goal is to
achieve the highest level of training quality as a recognizable regional centre of excellence and
professionalism. We can achieve it only if we have professional and competent professors and lecturers,
and if supported by a scientific institution such as the University in Mostar'', Vujević said and added that
this agreement will contribute to the development of the agency and its primary mission, which is - basic
police training and various types of specialized trainings for police officers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
„ Our strategic goal as the University in Mostar, along with the primary mission to provide
education for younger generations, is to contribute to and support the development of the community.
With this agreement signed, we give our contribution to the society and community“, Rector Tomić said
The representatives of the Agency for Education and Professional Training led by Director Marko
Vujević were Deputy Director Saša Govedarica, Head of Support Services Office, Dunja Galić and Head
of Office of Legal Affairs, Jelena Pupić. Rector Tomic was accompanied by prof.dr. Zdenko Klepić,
Vice-Rector for business operations, human resources and quality management, prof.dr. Vlado
Majstorović, Vice-Rector for inter-university cooperation, prof.dr. Ivo Čolak, Vice-Rector for science
and development, dr.sc. Tomislav Volarić (Centar za IT - SUMIT) and Damir Vasilj from the Rector's
The guests visited the new complex of facilities, including laser-shot training, e-learning and
criminalistics classrooms, sports hall, gym, and outdoor sports facilities. The University representatives
commended the quality of the new facilities and their capacities for future trainings, saying they provide
all preconditions for conducting joint research projects, professional development programmes, analyzing
joint problems and finding best ways for solving them,, as well as initiating the activities of common
interest for both institutions.
