A training of mentors of police officers on a probation period for 16 police officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies took place in the Agency for Education and Professional Training on April 16-20, 2018.

The Agency for Education and Professional Training plans, organizes and implements these training programmes with support and in cooperation with the International Assistance and Training Programme of the USA Ministry of Justice.

This training programme is designed to improve the skills of police officers to be able to successfully perform the duties of mentors of police officers on a probation period. When making a selection of candidates for mentors, the law enforcement agencies choose the police officers, who by their human and professional qualities can serve as a role model to junior police officers.

By the end of 2018, five more training programmes of this kind  will be organized for police officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and Border Police of BiH.
